Django Django
Django Django is an arty four-piece from Scotland. You may have a knee jerk reaction to the the news that one member is the brother of a member of the Beta Band, and it is definitely something you can pick out, but there's more here.
Part psychedelic retro 60s hippies, part post-punk art experiment, their drone rock escapes the simple descriptions by skipping around the rock signposts with glee. And it makes for great listening as well. As much as the critics will fall all over themselves to praise the artier side of what the quartet do, I love the immediate pop sensibilities that underlie all of the esoterics. Try to listen to Default without instantly falling in love:
