AEC Monthly Missive on The Tripwire

Just keeping you abreast of my writings... the latest AEC Monthly Missive has gone up at the Tripwire. Check it out for a quick catch up on what I have been digging, but expect more stuff here soon. Promise.

The All England Club's Monthly Missive- January 2009

Monthly column

So it may seem like I haven't posted in awhile. I did post something, but it was removed by the mighty all seeing blogger machine. So it hasn't been as long as it seems.

To tide you over until I finish compiling my "Top 10 of 2008," I figured I should point you to my most recent Tripwire piece. It's a new monthly column, so expect this to be a recurring post. Enjoy.

The Dandy Warhols

Here's another Tripwire review...

The Dandy Warhols- Earth To The Dandy Warhols..." gets a 6. But "Mis Amigos" gets an 8. I love the Dandies when they make big dumb pop songs.

The Dandy Warhols- Mis Amigos

The Black Ghosts

Time for another linked review. Follow the link below for my review of the debut LP by the UK's Black Ghosts.

The Black Ghosts at the Tripwire.

All in all it's an enjoyable ride, but probably about a 6.5 on the one2ten scale.

Try the Damon Albarn guest track for starters...

The Black Ghosts- The Repetition Kills You

Then go for the Olivia Newton-John cover...
The Black Ghosts- Physical

Adele

Instead of making you wait forever for the next post, I think I should also tag other pieces I write around the web, and re-purpose them here for our enjoyment. Let's start with my review of Adele's, 19. If I had to give a on2ten, I'd say it's a "at first glance" 6, with a longer term 8.

Adele- Chasing Pavements
Adele- Tired

And grab that Strokes cover mp3 for Last Night on the Tripwire page, it's good.
